Freshly Made Sketches #83

Hello everyone,

Today, I am sharing my card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches #83.  We have a fabulous sketch byAlisa:

My card:

I used one of my favorite flower stamps, SU! Field Flowers and I combined it with one of my favorite color combo, Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight.  You can never go wrong with these 2 pretty colors.  The patterned paper is from Pocketful of Posies.  The sentiment is from SU! Con Amor, Mama.

The Kraft Journal: Recylce or Re-Use Challenge

Happy Sunday!

I'm popping in very quickly to show you my project for this week's Kraft Journal Challenge:

I created a button jar, using a recycled baby food jar! I have all of my buttons in a shoebox and it's always a pain to go through them just to find one.  I organized them by color and it makes life easier. I adhered kraft cardstock to the jar and a thin strip of polka dot cardstock.  As you can see, this jar will hold the brown/tan buttons.  I labeled the jar using small, white stickers.

In order to dress up the lid, I adhered brown polka dot paper and added an orange ribbon.

The Paper Players #142

Happy Thursday!

Today, I am sharing a card I created for week's The Paper Players Challenge #142.  We were asked to create a one-layer card!  I LOVE challenges, and this one is no exception:

My card:

I have to admit, this challenge was not easy!  I'm so used to (and I'm sure many of us are), to add layers of cardstock and pretty embellishments from our stash, but for this challenge, it was plain and simple.   I used the pretty flower is from SU! Reason to Smile Stamp Set.  I stamped the image with Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point ink.  The sentiment is from the Inspired by Stamping Store, and that's about it folks!

Dynamic Duos #49

Hello everyone,

It's time to play Dynamic Duos Challenge #49!  We were asked to use Basic Black and Basic Gray with a dessert option of a Masculine Theme.  It was nice to use some different colors, since I've been very busy making Mother's Day cards.

My card:

I CASE'd Karen's awesome "black tie" card, with some changes to make the card my own.  I used grey gingham patterned paper for the shirt.  Not sure if you can see, but I added 2 pockets that I hand drew and added a black handkerchief to the right hand side pocket.  I used the SU! Petite Pennant Puncher for the black bow (not sure who to give credit for this idea since there are so many cards on Pinterest).  The sentiment is from SU! Best Dad Ever.  I think I took longer looking for 3 black buttons than putting this card together!

I think I will use this card as a template for my Father's Day card this year!  I really like the way it turned out.

Thank you so much for stopping by... Love to read your sweet comments!

The Kraft Journal: Clean & Simple

Happy Saturday!

I was able to squeeze in one more card today for this week's Kraft Journal Challenge.  This week it's all about "Clean & Simple" - a fun challenge indeed!

My card;

The base of the card is Very Vanilla.  I also added brown polka dot and kraft cardstock.  The stamp set is by Rubbernecker called Floral.  I stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa & Memento Desert Sand.  I had to restrain myself from embellishing this card, since I was tempted to jazz it up with lots of  pearls and ribbon, so I simply added a very small pearl to the middle of each flower instead.

Dynamic Duos #48

Happy Monday,

I have a card to share with you for this week's Dynamic Duos #48.  We were asked to use Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie:

My card:

The base is Whisper White, followed by Bashful Blue cardstock, which was embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF.  I purposely left the top left-hand open so the person receiving this card can admire the beautiful embossed cardstock.  It's so much prettier in person!  The bottom patterned paper is from SU! Just Add Cake DSP (retired).  The image is from SU! Wonderful Mother.  I dusted off the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set from my shelf and stamped the flowers with Pumpkin Pie.  To finish off my card, I added a pearl in the middle of each flower, 2 rhinestones and 2 bows using Bashful Blue ribbon.

Hi Everyone,

Just popping in quickly to share a card I made for this week's Freshly Made Sketches #80.

My card:

The base of the card is Whisper White, then Chocolate Chip Cardstock and gorgeous patterned paper from SU! Parisian Breeze (retired) - Oh, I love this dsp!  I pulled out a set I haven't used in a while, Because I Care (another of my favorites).  I stamped the image with Baja Breeze and Wild Wasabi.  The sentiment is from SU! Wonderful Mother.  3 pearls on the bottom left-hand side finished things off!

Merry Monday #57

Happy Saturday!

Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's Merry Monday #57.  Lesley has created this sketch for us:

My card:

For my Christmas card this week, I went with a non-traditional color, pink, and combined it with silver.  The base is Whisper White.  The patterned papers are from a retired paper pack from SU!, but I don't know the name of it.  A piece of  Blushing Bride cardstock was embossed with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  The image is from SU! Contempo Christmas and the sentiment is from Just Rite's Noel Christmas Ornaments Stamp Set.  Lastly, I added some pearls to the tree and a pink rhinestone as a tree topper.

The Kraft Journal: "Tag, You're It"

Hi Everyone,

I'm here to share my project for this week's Kraft Journal. We were asked to create a tag!

I grabbed a kraft tag and adhered a piece of patterned paper that blended with the Kraft color, and the rest fell into place!  All the pretty embellishments are from stash.  I wrapped some vintage crochet trim around the dress form to make it look like a skirt and added some tiny pearls to it.  A different crochet trim was added behind the dress form and vintage scissors.  A beautiful crochet flower, Melissa Frances pom pom trim, a button and Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon finishes things off!

The beautiful flower is stamped with Pool Party ink.  To add some texture, I used the Delicate Designs Folder on the bottom of my card.  The sentiment is from SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Lastly, I added a stitched red ribbon inserted into a ribbon slide and a few pearls to jazz it up a bit!

Freshly Made Sketches #80

Hi Everyone,

I just love, love this week's sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Since Mother's Day is just around the corner, I decided to get started making some cards!

My card:

The base is Whisper White, second layer is Baja Breeze and the pretty paper is from SU! Pocketful of Posies (retired).  I used, for the first time, the gorgeous flower from SU! Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set...Oh my, I really like this flower!  At first, I used Rich Razzleberry ink, but it was a bit too dark for me, so I went with Regal Rose ink and Pretty In Pink ink - love the color combo!  The leaves were stamped with Certainly Celery.  I really like how Narelle's bow is slightly askew, so I wanted to try it on my card too.  I always think everything needs to be perfectly straight, but I need to learn that if it's not, it can still look very pretty!

The Kraft Journal: Anything Goes

Happy Hump Day Everyone,

Today, I have a card for the challenge over at The Kraft Journal: Anything Goes.  I was lucky to have some time today to create a card!

The base of the card is SU! Crumb Cake, followed with pretty paper from My Mind's Eye Howdy Doody Designer Paper Pad.  This is a quick and easy card to do when you have the Circle Spellbinders!  The Daisy is from SU! Daisies Die (retired).  I used a different Kraft Cardstock I purchased last week for the circles, and I noticed it is a bit darker than SU! Crumb Cake.  I'm not sure if I like it.  It looks darker in the picture than in person, but it is Kraft!  The sentiment is from SU! Elementary Elegance.  I used a new die I purchased from My Favorite Things called Pinking Edge Border, and added a simple border at the bottom of the card.

Merry Monday #56

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I'm heading out the door, but wanted to upload my card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge #56.

My Card:

The base of the card is Very Vanilla, followed with Real Red cardstock and a pretty red patterned paper from my stash.  The stripes are from from SU!  Print Poetry.  I've flipped the sketch on it's side as it worked better for my layout.  The sentiment is from SU! Snow Swirled, heat embossed with gold powder to make it stand out.  The beautiful poinsettia is from a Spellbinder die.  To give it some color, I added some green leaves using MS Holly punch
